Winery and cheese

Today we were awoken by a rooster and the bells from the local bell tower. So lovely. We are in Lastra a Signa, a lovely small town outside of Florence. We are taking a small bus to a vineyard, lunch snd shopping in Montelcino and Pienza for cheese. The ride was hot and bumpy. Our driver got lost several times so we were late for our appointment. The winery was lovely but I was not impressed with the wine.
Next we went to Montelcino for lunch. What a beautiful place. It is a hillside town making the streets hilly and the views are so beautiful. Lunch was fantastic and we enjoyed shopping a bit before embarking on our drive to Pienza. Helen, Sheila and I were so full from lunch that we chose to shop and tour buying no cheese. I love Pienza. It is a sweet, quiet town with friendly people. I hope to return here some day. To finish off our day, we had dinner together at the local pizza shop. They serve thin crust, wood oven pizzas. Fantastico!
